Since the beginning of this year, all steps in the ad design process at Zeitungsgruppe Stuttgart have been fully digitalized and automated.
Introduction of the digital job folder
The successful introduction of the digital job folder (a further module of the modular ProcSet Workflow Solution) formed the basis for the complete “digitalization” of the internal workflows.
Within the scope of the implementation project, MSH Medien System Haus GmbH & Co. KG supported Pressehaus Stuttgart Infotechnik GmbH (PHIT) and other project partners in the design of the business processes and ensured an optimal mapping of the workflows in the flexible ProcSet Workflow Solution from ProcSet.
User satisfaction
In the target concept phase of the implementation project, the optimal workflows were jointly designed and described. The mapping of these lean processes with the ergonomic interface of the ProcSet Workflow Solution in connection with the complete integration of the technical production processes into the commercial display system IS-M/AM of SAP led to a very high satisfaction of all users and employees.
Increased efficiency through savings in walking distances
Communication between the individual processing teams was considerably simplified by the uniform view of the order and its processing status. The time-consuming paper workflow – especially in the area of proofs – has become obsolete and has been replaced by automated systems.
Even after the day of publication, a quick view of the motif and all elements assigned to the order for the processing of repeat orders (and complaints, if applicable) is possible quickly and easily at any time.
Flexible response options
Through complete digitalization and automation of the individual steps within the overall process, a very flexible production control is possible at any time.
Integration of external partners into the production process
The options and reaction possibilities of production control are to be further expanded in the very short term. In order to be able to absorb production peaks quickly and flexibly, external service providers for the processing of typesetting orders are also to be integrated into the workflow in future.
With the web-based ad portal ProcSet offers a modern solution for the integration of external partners into the workflow. The high degree of automation in the internal process flow can be extended to external partners by this solution.
The work results of the external partner (e.g. the production document in PDF format and the open editor format in InDesign format) are automatically fed back into the production system.
Production control
The production control remains in the internal production control at all times. The ProcSet Workflow Solution offers comfortable and manifold possibilities to display all necessary and important information in a “cockpit” or “control center”.
